Who's Who at EDT

Nancy Zander—Director

Nancy has been teaching a loyal dance following for over fifteen years.  She has a degree is Art History from Manhattanville College. Nancy was on the teaching staff in classical ballet at Northern Westchester Center for the Arts, and owned her own dance exercise franchise in Bedford Hills.   While at NWCA, she served as the Arts Education Coordinator, choreographed numerous dances, founded the Parents Dance Guild for fund raising, directed the Dance Intensive Summer Camp and was the founder of the Artist Liaison Committee.  She also at worked annually in conjunction with the Moscow State Ballet as their children’s ballet mistress for their productions of the “Great Russian Nutcracker”. Nancy Zander was the 2005-2006 Director of Dance for the Harvey Arts Program.

She has performed and toured with the New York School of Ballet under the direction of Richard Thomas and Barbara Fallis.  Nancy’s life has never kept her far from the Arts, She has had a successful career at Sotheby’s NYC and has served as Director of Alexander Gallery in NYC for many years. Nancy has lived in Katonah for over 20 years.


Lenore Eggleston— Director

Lenore Eggleston’s dynamic and poignant choreography has been presented at numerous venues in New York City including the Joyce Soho, the Evolving Arts Theater at Dance Space Center, in the Uptown Performance Series at The Bridge for Dance, and the New Dance Group Arts Center. “Ms. Eggleston has a firm grasp of movement composition.” Dance Insider.

Performing in windows, on staircases and around swimming pools Ms. Eggleston has been in the numerous site-specific works of Stephen Koplowitz and Company since 1999. She has also performed with MariaColacoDance, the New York and Boston based Verhoff/LoTurco Danceworks and has worked with choreographers such as Lan Lan Wang, George de la Pena, Heidi Latsky and Eddie Taketa of Doug Varone and Dancers.

A native of Westchester County, Ms. Eggleston’s work has been presented at Connecticut College, the Northern Westchester Center for the Arts in Mount Kisco, the Bendheim Theater in Scarsdale and at the Bicentennial Celebration for the town of Katonah in 1997.

Ms. Eggleston has served as Program Coordinator for the Visions & Voices Young Choreographers Project at the Northern Westchester Center for the Arts, encouraging high school aged students to create new works for dance. She is a founding member of Off the Edge, a dance collective and professional performance series for suburban artists.

Currently the Director of Marketing for the Westchester Philharmonic, Ms. Eggleston holds a B.A. in Dance and Psychology from Connecticut College and an M.A. in Performing Arts Administration from New York University. Her more than 10 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, marketing, event and strategic planning comes not only from her work with the Philharmonic but also the Lar Lubovich Dance Company, Eliot Feld’s Ballet Tech Company and school, and the Kaufman Center’s two music schools and concert venue, Merkin Concert Hall.



Maria Colaco—Director

Choreographer, performer and dance educator, Maria Colaco, is the Artistic Director of NYC based MariaColacoDance. Maria has a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of South Florida where she studied with such great teachers as Jennifer Salk, John Parks (Alvin Ailey, Horton Technique), Lynn Wimmer (Jose Limon Dance Company, Limon Technique), Gretchen Warren (Ballet Mistress at American Ballet Theatre). While In Tampa, Maria performed with the Moving Current Dance Collective as well as Jobsite Theatre Company. Maria has studied and worked with choreographers such as John Malashock, Mark Taylor, Gretchen Ward Warren, Jean Travers, Juan Carlos Claudio, Claire Porter, Keith Johnson, Claire Porter and Elsa Valbuena.

Since moving to NYC Maria has danced with Daniel Caldwell and the Leverage group (Ezra Caldwell), Axis Dance, the Wake up Artists and Turner Dance. Maria is a founding member of Off the Edge, a dance collective and professional performance series for suburban artists. In 2005 Maria founded MariaColacoDance. Her work has been showcased at Mulberry Street Theatre – NEWSTEPS, Dancewave, Spoke the Hub @ Gowanus Arts, WAX Works, The Puffin Room, Dance Space Center, Movement Research, University Settlement, Pier 63, HATCH, DTW and Dance New Amsterdam. Her work has received high acclaims at the American College Dance Festival and Florida Dance festival.

Maria’s dancing has taken her to such far off lands as Bolivia, France and most recently India. Her latest projects include: Choreographing for national commercials, and PODCAST: a large scale site specific to be performed throughout NYC in summer 2007. In August 2006 MariaColacoDance presented a full evening work entitled EYE CANDY, it opened to rave reviews at the 2006 New York International Fringe Festival. Her work has been described as, “Hilarious” (Block Magazine), “Striking, Confident, Daring and refreshingly unexpected” (NYTHEATRE). www.mariacolaco.com
